Athena Mobility & Strength Presents

Unlock your athletic potential right here in Carlisle.

Whether you are aiming to make the starting lineup, get faster on the field, or simply build confidence, strength, and quickness, our brand-new Athena Girls Performance Clinic is built for you.

Our coaches bring their own NCAA college athletic experience to every session, and they're passionate about mentoring young athletes, not just in strength training, but in what it takes to pursue college athletics down the road.

You do not need to be a seasoned athlete or play a specific sport to join. This program is open to any young girl looking to elevate their movement, speed, and agility (a basic level of general fitness is recommended). We combine the energy of a small-group, boutique setting with individualized attention, ensuring every participant gets the feedback and coaching they need to grow safely and effectively.

Meet Your Coaches

Megan Eckenrode-Hedrick

Hi! I’m Megan Eckenrode-Hedrick, the Founder/Owner & Head Coach of Athena Mobility & Strength.

I created Athena to give athletes what I always wished I'd had: a place where they feel genuinely valued and supported as they chase their goals, and a place where coaches and former players can grow their own passion for the game.

For the girls clinics: I saw a gap in the sports performance world for a program built to give young athletes a positive, challenging support system, one that pushes them to become their best while keeping the joy in the process. We want your girls to leave with more than a stronger body. We want them to have encouragement, a passion for taking care of themselves beyond their sport, real tools to manage the demands of athletics, and excitement to keep going.

I saw a chance to build something special where nothing like it existed. I want more for Carlisle's young female athletes than what I had growing up: real strength training, real education, and real mentorship. We take the work seriously, but we never lose the fun in it. We want our athletes to feel like they can advocate for themselves, ask questions, and know their voice matters, because even though we're the experts, none of it means anything if it isn't built around you. This is something we want to grow together.

About Me

I was an NCAA DIII athlete at York College, where I played field hockey all four years, served as captain for three, and earned All-American and All-Conference honors. Before that, I played field hockey, track, and soccer at Carlisle High School. Since then, I've coached at York College Lacrosse, Dickinson College Field Hockey, and Slippery Rock Field Hockey, and spent time with Hershey High School Field Hockey, Big Spring Middle School Field Hockey, and Central Penn Club Field Hockey.

I never had a strong athletic mentor growing up, and that's exactly what we want to give the young girls of Carlisle. Whether it's strength training form, recovery techniques, or navigating NCAA recruitment, we want to be the guide for the bigger picture of their athletic journey.

Avery Gallahue

Hi! My name is Avery Gallahue, the newest coach here at Athena!

I am a Carlilian (kind of), spending my high school years here involved in varsity volleyball at CHS and club volleyball through Fusion VBC. I helped create these clinics as a way to reach & serve all areas of our community- starting with young girls. This is something I would’ve wanted as a middle school/high school aged athlete in Carlisle and we’re so excited we can provide that for you all. A little more about me:

I played volleyball from middle school all the way through college at the University of Mary Washington (NCAA DIII). I have been working with young athletes for nearly seven years through private lessons, camps, clinics, and club volleyball, and four-plus years learning strength and conditioning for myself. At the University of Mary Washington, we won conference my first 2 years and made it to the Sweet 16 both years too! I wish strength and conditioning would have made a bigger impact on me before college because I, amongst many young women, had a rude awakening as a freshman when I had barely any working knowledge of basic lifting, stretching, or recovery skills. We want to be able to provide that for your girls for not only a bright and healthy future in athletics, but life!!
