  • Progress comes with genuine interest and ownership of our bodies, our wellness journeys, and our movement practices. The path may not always be linear or easy, but we are willing to try (and sometimes fail), to keep an open mind when it comes to changing beliefs about ourselves, our capabilities, and the world around us, and to be willing to lean into the discomfort that comes with the messy unpredictability of being human.

  • In an industry and a world that celebrates the search for a quick fix, unsustainable lifestyle practices, and highly filtered aesthetic goals, we educate our clients on development of movement and lifestyle habits that reward consistency over perfection. We lean into the messy middle of long term forward progress and necessary discomfort while honoring what we are able to give on any given day. We acknowledge the need to develop boundaries for ourselves to ensure we are valuing our own needs as much as we value the needs of others.

  • We aren’t seeking perfection in movement or behavior or aesthetics, but rather to gain confidence that our bodies and minds can handle the rigors of the world around us. In a world that seeks to convince us that our value lies solely in outward appearance, that our bodies should look the same throughout our lives, and that getting older is an inevitable path to frailty - we develop emotional and physical resilience by continuing to question these messages, both in mindset, in self-talk, and physical practice.

  • Our lived experiences and our environments matter and play a much greater role in our wellness than even the best exercise program or nutritional plan. We commit to vulnerability, approachability, and authenticity in our successes, our challenges, and our realities. Everything matters and nothing is TMI. We hold space for ourselves and for each other as whole, complex human beings. When things are challenging we are honest with ourselves and will reach out to our coaches for support knowing that help is always available.

  • Athena is a home for all of us to not only progress toward our personal goals, but to support the forward progress of those around us. We believe that social support is a key driver of lifestyle change and want our space to be one where pursuit of wellness can be meaningful AND enjoyable. We are committed to cultivating a safe and inclusive environment for people of all body shapes, races, gender identities, and ages to explore their movement practice and wellness journey. We collectively commit to caring for our studio space, respecting each other’s time and energy, and continuing to be the genuinely awesome people we are.
